Pride Parade

This past Sunday was both the Pride Parade and my B-day. A friend of ours was getting together a little group to see the parade, so we thought that would be fun...here's our "posse".

One of the things I love about Pride day (and the Market Days street Fest that goes on in the same neighborhood later in the summer) is the love in the air.

And no...I don't mean that. I mean the friendliness, the openness. Here I am, a straight male, with an unmistakable earing in my left ear (the "right" ear to have an earing in if you are hetero). And still, I feel part of what's happening there. Freedom and acceptance. There's an awful lot of it going round at a Pride Parade, plenty for all to share.

If you don't think Gay rights have to do with human rights, I feel for you....but they do. Freedom, and respect for all of us. How can we live with anything less?
